An Akupanel as a ceiling covering

At Floer, our main focus is on flooring. However, we also explore possibilities for walls and even ceilings! While the ceiling is often an overlooked part of a room, it plays a crucial role in the overall look of the space. 😉 Additionally, the ceiling can affect a room’s acoustics. Read on to learn how to use an XL Akupanel as a ceiling covering for optimal results!

Floer your ceiling with an Akupanel!

Why choose a panel as a ceiling covering?

Floer Akupanel XL Wall Panels provide an excellent and stylish solution to reduce reverberation in a room. Did you know that you can not only attach these wall panels to the wall but also to the ceiling? An Akupanel is an ideal choice for a ceiling covering due to its sound-absorbing properties. In domestic and commercial spaces, such as offices, restaurants, and living rooms, ambient noise can spread uncontrollably, resulting in poor acoustics and discomfort. Floer XL Acoustic panels remedy this problem by absorbing sound waves.

Benefits of Akupanel as a ceiling covering

There are several advantages to using an acoustic panel as a ceiling covering. We’re happy to list a few!

  1. Better sound experience: The benefits of an Akupanel are self-explanatory, but we cannot stress enough how much it can enhance the sound experience. Many modern interiors feature hard materials such as concrete, glass, and tiles, which reflect and amplify sound waves due to their smooth and hard surfaces. In contrast, an acoustic panel absorbs and dampens these sound waves with its slats and felt, creating a calm and pleasant atmosphere.
  2. Noise reduction:  The reflection of sound waves creates reverberation, which can result in an annoying echo, especially in empty rooms. Even if you’ve filled your living room with furniture and belongings, you may still hear an annoying reverberation. In such cases, an Akupanel could be the solution. You can mount a Floer XL Akupanel on the ceiling for a stylish solution. Tip: you can drill a hole in the Akupanel to add a decorative pendant light or modern spotlights. This way, your ceiling panel won’t be an oddity but rather a part of your entire interior.
  3. Stylish look: As previously mentioned, Akupanels offer a stylish solution to sound issues within a room. They feature a beautiful wood or linoleum finish that adds warmth and sophistication to the ceiling. The Akupanel collection includes six stunning wood colours, three modern linoleum colours, and one concrete colour, ensuring a suitable option for every interior.
  4. A sustainable choice:  Are you environmentally conscious? If so, you can confidently attach an acoustic wall panel from Floer to your ceiling. These panels are produced using sustainable forestry and recycled felt.

Do you know how to mount an acoustic panel on a wall? Then you also know how to mount one on the ceiling! However, if you are not familiar with the process, don’t worry, we’ll explain it again. There are two ways to fix an Akupanel: with screws or with the Floer High Tack Kit. It is recommended to have two or more people to help with the installation. The method you choose depends on your personal preference. Regardless of the method, it is important to ensure a dust-free surface and remove any unevenness. Measure where you want to attach the Akupanel in advance and mark the panel’s lines on the ceiling.

If you want to attach the panel with screws, start by marking out where the drill holes will be. Then, drill holes in the ceiling and insert matching plugs. Finally, fix the Akupanel by screwing screws through the felt and into the plugs.

Are you planning to fix the panel with sealant? If so, first apply a layer of sealant to the wall or ceiling, and then press the panel into place within the marked lines. Make sure to apply enough sealant and press the Akupanel firmly in all places so that it cannot move.
