Why Tile Vinyl Flooring?
When it comes to choosing between a concrete vinyl tiled floor and stone tiles, the question arises: why choose the former? Well, vinyl tile flooring offers several benefits that make it an excellent choice for interiors. First and foremost, vinyl tiles are durable and hard-wearing, ensuring longevity and the ability to withstand daily use. With stone tiles, there is always a risk of breakage or scratches. Moreover, vinyl tiles are water-resistant, making them ideal for damp rooms like bathrooms and kitchens. While stone tiles are also water-resistant, being a natural product makes them susceptible to water infiltration and damage. Additionally, maintenance of a vinyl tiled floor is straightforward; a simple mop and soapy water can make it shine again! Also, unlike stone tiles, you don’t need to consider sealing joints with vinyl flooring.

How to lay Vinyl Tiles?
Floer offers vinyl tiles that resemble stone or concrete in two types: adhesive and click-on. The difference lies in the name! Dryback Vinyl floorboards are thin and flexible, while Rigid Click Tile Vinyl floors are thicker and more stable, thanks to the hard intermediate layer, also known as the ‘rigid core’ or ‘rigid mineral core’. The click connection of the latter allows for easy installation without glue. Therefore, the two types of flooring require slightly different installation methods. Below is a brief step-by-step guide for both types of floors. For detailed instructions, please refer to the corresponding Floer blogs. Let’s get started!
Step 1: A good start is half the battle (for both types of floors)
Allow the floorboards to acclimate for 48 hours before installation. Use (#) dressing to ensure optimal airflow. See the picture above for an example. Additionally, determine the laying direction of the floor and mark it. Consider the room layout and lighting for the best visual result.
Step 2: Provide a good foundation
For Dryback Vinyl Tiles: Make sure the surface is 100% level. It is also important that the levelled surface has been sanded with 40-grit paper and is completely free of dust and dirt.
For Rigid Click Vinyl Tiles: A rigid click vinyl floor does not require the subfloor to be 100% level, but it is important to use the right underlay. To ensure the best outcome, choose the Rigid Click underlay as it can withstand heavy floorboards, supports the click connection, and comes with a 20-year manufacturer’s warranty.
Step 3: Laying the floorboards
For Dryback Vinyl Tiles: Before gluing the floor, lay it out first. Begin by stretching a wire in the middle of the room, parallel to the wall where you want to lay the tiles. Then, lay the first row of tiles along this wire, ensuring that everything is straight and placing some weight on the tiles to prevent them from moving. Next, apply the first section of contact adhesive with a glue comb, working from the middle of the floor toward the wall. After 20 minutes of drying, you can apply the floorboards to the adhesive. Dryback vinyl tiles can be placed tightly against the door frames since these floors are adjustable. Continue working in this methodical way until you have installed the entire floor.
For Rigid Click Vinyl Tiles: To ensure enough space, use spacers between the wall and the floor tiles. Start laying the first tile in a corner and continue row by row. The Fastclick click connection makes it easy to join the rigid tiles together. Once finished, mark and cut the floorboards to size.
Step 4: The cherry on top
For Dryback Vinyl Tiles: Has your floor fully dried? If so, you can start finishing it. A dryback vinyl floor can be laid with or without skirting boards, as it is low-profile and does not require space between the wall and the floor. This allows for a sleek look where the floor blends seamlessly into the wall.
For Rigid Click Vinyl Tiles: Once you have installed your rigid click vinyl floor, you can proceed to install the skirting boards. We recommend using skirting boards with this type of floor, as there needs to be space between the wall and the floor. To achieve a clean finish, you can choose between regular skirting boards or high-wall skirting boards.
In conclusion, stone vinyl tiles are a durable, stylish, and luxurious choice for various projects such as interiors, offices, workshops, or shops. You can choose between Dryback Vinyl and Rigid Click Vinyl Tiles to fully customize your floor according to your needs and preferences. Rigid Click Vinyl is easy to install, offers various design possibilities, and has many advantages as a material, making these stone plastic tiles ideal for creating beautiful and functional floors. For optimal results, it is recommended to hire an experienced parquet installer to lay a Dryback Vinyl floor.
