You probably hear the term vinyl floor a lot these days. But what is it exactly and why are these floors so popular in today’s market? You can read all about it in this blog!

How is the Vinyl floor made?

Vinyl or PVC is one of the best known and most widely used plastics out there. It is made by polymerising vinyl chloride molecules, which come from natural gas or salt. Although this all sounds very complicated, it simply means that individual molecules are turned into a long, strong chain. This process eventually forms Vinyl granules and powder. By adding certain additives, this is then transformed into your favourite Floer! Although it may seem intense, don’t worry: all our Vinyl floors are safe, and you’ll find more information about this later in this blog.

The uniqueness of Vinyl

Vinyl’s versatility is one of its many advantages. Its waterproof properties make it an ideal choice for areas such as kitchens. It also offers a wide range of design options, from many unique designs to realistic wood textures.

Then of course, the cold months call out for warm feet. So, if you opt for vinyl floors, every step in your home will feel like a warm welcome! Thanks to their low thermal resistance, our vinyl floors easily transfer heat, keeping your home at a comfortable temperature. Not only does this provide comfort, it can also save you money! Add to all this the low maintenance and you have an extremely durable Floer!

After all the difficult words that have already been mentioned, you’re probably thinking ‘Vinyl is pretty unhealthy, so I’ll skip it’. But this is definitely not true. In fact, over the years, with the help of new technologies and skills, Vinyl flooring has been developed in such a way that it does not affect the indoor environment.

All our Vinyl floors carry a number of leading quality labels and certificates. Take, for instance, the ‘DIBt’ label, which has been awarded to our entire Forest and Tile Vinyl collection. This German seal shows that the floors have good emission values. Products with the Greenguard label, such as our Whalebone Vinyl, meet strict chemical emission requirements which reduce indoor chemical exposure. Besides that, our entire collection is phthalate-free, and we use only natural soybean-based plasticisers, so there are no harmful plasticisers in Floer!  Whichever Vinyl floor you choose, whether it’s Dryback Vinyl or Rigid Click Vinyl, it will always provide a safe floor for your children, pets and, of course, you 😉 to grow up on!

What is Rigid Click Vinyl?

One of the factors contributing to the increasing popularity of Vinyl floors is the introduction of click joints. Our Click Vinyl floor collection features advanced click joints, that make it easy to install yourself (even with two left hands🤓). Would you like to know how to lay Whalebone Click Vinyl floors yourself? Then check out our Floertube where Guido explains everything you need to know! Also, don’t forget to choose a good underlay if you’re going to install your Floer yourself.
