Floer Herringbone Vinyl – Pure Oak

At Floer, we are working non-stop to improve our rock-solid Vinyl floors. When we announced the new MEGAMAT© Vinyl floors, we also announced a special “ceramic bead technology”. This technology can almost be seen as a kind of super-power for Vinyl flooring – in fact, it makes Vinyl many times stronger! But what does this technology specifically entail, and what does it add to Vinyl flooring? You can read about it in this blog!

What is ceramic-bead technology?

To know exactly what ceramic-bead technology is in Vinyl flooring, we need to take out our best microscope. If you zoom in closely, you will see that microscopic ceramic particles are added into the PU top layer of the Vinyl. The ceramic powder is mixed with the polyurethane liquid, then applied to the design layer of the floor. These small and fearless “beads” are extremely robust. In fact, they form a shield against scratches, wear and even stains on the surface of Vinyl flooring. In addition, they are incredibly durable and do not affect the appearance of the Floer. Thus, the lifespan and durability of your Floer improves, courtesy of these little beads!

As described above, ceramic beads are embedded in the top wear layer of Vinyl flooring. This is the ironclad wear layer that we always mention! Currently, collections such as the Whalebone Vinyl and Whalebone Rigid Click Vinyl have this technology in the top layer of their floorboards. The strategic placement of the ceramic-bead technology strengthens the surface that is used daily and (potentially) damaged. All this, while maintaining the beautiful appearance and structural integrity of the Floer.

Protection through ceramic technology

Okay, we get that the word “ceramic” may not give you an association of a super-sturdy material. When you get a ceramic vase from your grandmother, it is often a fragile and very breakable object. Within the term “ceramic-beaded technology,” the ceramic piece refers to materials produced by heating non-metallic materials. This includes a range of materials, from pottery and tiles to advanced ceramic materials such as stoneware. So in this sense, “ceramic” is used in a wide variety of purposes – from construction projects to automobiles, from the military to the electronics industry. And so also within the flooring world! The minuscule powerhouses armor your floor against the use of everyday life!

Ceramic bead technology and large households

Imagine a home full of life, laughter and movement. This is where the magic and power of your ceramic-beaded Floer really comes into its own! In homes where the day begins with children running, playing and flying, this floor offers amazing protection. Never mind how some pets, et their playful personalities, can rock the house. Whalebone Rigid Click Vinyl flooring, and other ceramic-beaded flooring from Floer, can handle it all! Whether it’s claw prints or unexpected spills, your floors will stay beautiful and undone. Plus, they are completely waterproof and easy to maintain. That means less worry for you and more time to enjoy those precious moments with your family.
