At Floer, we love innovation. It’s no wonder we were the first in the Dutch market to offer the most matte vinyl! We like to surpass ourselves, which is why we’re proud to announce the new quality mark MEGAMAT on our vinyl. This superlative gloss value makes Floer floors even more matte than before so that your Whalebone Vinyl floor doesn’t shine but sparkles! Read on to find out more about this new and revolutionary hallmark.
The power of perfect finishing
We all know how important the finish of your flooring is to the overall look of your interior. However, traditional vinyl flooring can sometimes create an annoying and unwanted reflection that distracts from the desired visual harmony. This problem often occurs when light enters from large windows, such as sliding doors. That’s why Floer is proud to introduce the new MEGAMAT gloss value. This gloss value is unique in the market and, in combination with a subtly tactile top layer, it ensures the perfect finish for your new flooring!
Gloss value of Vinyl flooring
The gloss value of a floor is determined by the PU lacquer layer. As a rule of thumb, the lower the gloss value, the more matte the floor appears. In the past, PU coatings could only achieve minimum gloss values between 3 and 5, which we referred to as ‘super matte’. However, with the MEGAMAT seal of approval, new Vinyl floors can achieve an impressive gloss value of around 2. This innovative technology provides an ultra-matte finish that eliminates any light reflection, resulting in a sleek, contemporary look for your space without the distraction of a shiny floor.
Advantages of MEGAMAT Vinyl
As you might imagine, we didn’t just introduce MEGAMAT Vinyl. This new gloss value offers numerous benefits to homeowners, businesses, and interior designers alike. The non-reflective surface enhances the visual appeal of any room, providing a sense of spaciousness and sophistication. MEGAMAT floors now feature a new PU coating with “ceramic-bead” technology, which makes them more scratch-resistant. It’s important to note, however, that while floating floors with MEGAMAT technology are more scratch-resistant, vinyl remains a soft material and is still susceptible to scratching under sharp conditions.
Let your Floer shine with MEGAMAT!
In the long term, we plan to launch all Floer floors with the new MEGAMAT version. However, Whalebone Vinyl already comes equipped with this new technology. If you’re curious about this new technology and would like to see it in your home, order a Whalebone Vinyl sample and let your future Floer shine!
